The Murray State volleyball team’s six-match winning streak was snapped Friday night at Bradley as the Racers fell in straight sets, 25-16, 25-22 and 25-16 in Peoria, Ill. The loss drops MSU’s record to 6-2 on the year.

The Racers struggled offensively in the match, hitting just .084, their second-lowest hitting percentage of the season. Meanwhile, the Braves (3-6) hit .323 and out-blocked MSU 10-5. Both teams recorded five service errors while BU had five aces to MSU’s four.

Rachel Giustino led the Racers with 13 kills in the loss while Dacia Brown added seven and Rachel Holthaus chipped in with five. Giustino also had eight digs in the loss and led the way defensively at the net with three total blocks.

Ashley McBee led the way with 19 assists on the night and in the back row, libero Becca Fernandez led the squad with 14 digs.

MSU looks to bounce back Saturday morning as it ends the Bradley CEFCU Classic against Illinois-Chicago in an 11 a.m., match.
