Two Eastern Kentucky University men’s golfers finished in the top-30 at the loaded Northern Intercollegiate on Monday. Erik Lindwall tied for 23rd and Will Sallee tied for 26th in a field that included players from Marquette, Virginia, Iowa State, Purdue and Michigan.

Lindwall shot rounds of 73, 74 and 2-under 70 for a 54-hole total of 217 (+1). Sallee followed a first round 74 with a second round 1-under 71 on Sunday before closing out play on Monday with a 73 for a three-round 218 (+2).

As a team, Eastern Kentucky placed 11th with a total of 881 (+17). The Colonels were six shots better than Loyola-Maryland (887) and three shots behind a pair of teams tied for ninth – Wisconsin (878) and Louisiana Monroe (878).

Marquette (832) ran away from the field, finishing in first by 13 shots over second place Virginia (845). Iowa State (860) was third and Purdue (862) was fourth.

The 12-team event was contested at the par-72, 7,253-yard Rich Harvest Farms Golf Club.

Noah Combs (222) tied for 41st and Jared Brown (226) tied for 57th. Billy Basham (231) tied for 63rd.

Eastern Kentucky will be right back in action this weekend at the two-day Louisville Intercollegiate beginning Saturday at the University of Louisville Golf Club.
