University of Louisville senior defender Tim Kubel was named Tuesday as the ACC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Clemson’s Patrick Bunk-Andersen was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Kubel scored a pair of game-winning goals for the Cardinals, who remained unbeaten with two victories last week. Hailing from Stuttgart, Germany, Kubel started the week with the lone goal in last Monday’s match against No. 25 Butler connecting in the 39th minute on a sliding attempt from 18 yards away to lift Louisville to a 1-0 victory against the Bulldogs. Four days later, the All-American delivered on a penalty kick in the 47th minute of the Cardinals’ 1-0 triumph at Georgia State on Friday night. With his first two goals of the season, Kubel moved into ninth in career goals at Louisville with 17 while six of those are game-winners.

Up next, No. 8 Louisville hosts No. 19 Kentucky in the annual Battle of the Bluegrass tonight at 7:30 p.m., ET at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium.
