Junior Erik Lindwall tied for ninth and the Eastern Kentucky University men’s golf team finished sixth at the Duck Commander Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Louisiana Monroe.

 

Lindwall finished with a three-round total of 229 after shooting round of 72, 75 and 82.  He finished just one shot out of seventh and three shots from the top four.

 

As a team, Eastern shot rounds of 310, 300 and 322 for a 54-hole total of 932.  The Colonels were just two shots out of fifth and within six of the top three.

 

The 12-team event was contested at the par-72, 7,289-yard Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, Arkansas.

 

North Carolina Wilmington (916) won by seven shots over second place Louisiana Tech (923).  Central Arkansas (926) was third.

 

EKU beat Little Rock (933) and eighth place Western Kentucky (934) among others.

 

Will Sallee (239) tied for 36th.  Noah Combs (240) and Jared Brown (240) tied for 40th.

 

The Colonels have concluded the fall portion of their 2017-18 season.  EKU will return to play on March 8 at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate.
