The Thomas More College men’s golf team had two players in the Top-5 and shot a two-day total of 603 (303-300) to finish second today (Sunday, October 8, 2017) at the Stateline Shootout hosted by Mount St. Joseph University at Miami Whitewater Forest Golf Course in Harrison, Ohio.

Sophomore Kyle Alexander (Taylorsville, Ky./Spencer County) led the Saints as he finished tied for third with a 146 (74-72). Junior Matt Striegel (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) tied for fifth with a 147 (72-75).

Senior Carter Hibbard (Florence, Ky./Boone County) finished 13th with a 153 (79-74), sophomore Zack Baynum (California, Ky./Campbell County) tied for 23rd with a 160 (78-82) and first-year Nick Drake (Bowling Green, Ky./South Warren) was 31st with a 162 (83-79).

Thomas More had four golfers compete as individuals as sophomore Jacob Zai (Cold Spring, Ky./Bishop Brossart) tied for 27th with a 161 (81-80), first-year Kyle Redden (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) tied for 41st with a 167 (88-79), first-year Robby Case IV (Crestview Hills, Ky./Covington Catholic) was 53rd with a 182 (95-87) and sophomore Blake Baioni (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) was 55th with a 192 (98-94).

Miami University – Hamilton won the team championship with a 598 (295-303) and Berea College’s Kevin Kim (72-73) and Franklin College’s Jackson Williams (70-75) tied for individual medalist honors with a 145.

This tournament concluded the fall portion of the Saints’ 2017-18 scheduled. The spring schedule will be announced in January.
