WKU Women’s Tennis will head to Middle Tennessee on Friday to compete in the Ohio Valley ITA Regional Championships. Teams represented at the Regional Championships include No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 18 Kentucky, No. 24 Tennessee, Ball State, Cincinnati, ETSU, Indiana, Louisville, Memphis, Miami (Ohio), Middle Tennessee, and Ball State.

Lady Topper Tennis will enter the Regional Championships with a Fall Tournament singles record of 25-7. The Red and White are coming off an impressive 21-0 run at the WKU Invitational against two-time reigning Ohio Valley Conference Champion, SIUE.

Freshman Moka Ito and sophomore Monica Malinen have teamed up for a 4-1 doubles record so far in this fall season. The duo is currently on a three-win run and looks to extend the streak this weekend.

Ionnina, Greece, native Elpida Malamou has done exceptionally well for the Lady Toppers this fall, racking up five individual wins. The graduate student has fallen just three times in 2017-18, two of those to nationally ranked competitors at the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships.

The winners of each main draw (singles and doubles) will receive automatic berths to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships hosted at the Billie Jean King Center in Flushing, N.Y.

Ohio Valley ITA Regional Championship updates will be available on the MTSU Tournament Central Site as well as the ITA Regional Results page. Weekend action will also use the hashtag #ITARegionals on Twitter.
