The fourth-ranked Thomas More College women’s basketball team extended its winning streak over Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) opponents to 110 games tonight (Wednesday, February 7, 2018) as it defeated Westminster College, 90-33, inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.

With the win, the Saints improve to 21-1 overall and 15-0 PAC. Thomas More has won 97 straight PAC regular season games dating back to the 2011-12 season and has also won 13 straight PAC Championship Tournament games during that span. With the loss, the Titans fall to 7-15 overall and 3-12 in the PAC.

Thomas More never trailed in the game as it led 24-14 after one quarter and extended the lead to 45-25 at halftime. The Saints then used a 35-1 third quarter to increase the lead to 80-26 and then used a 10-7 fourth quarter to cruise to the 90-33 victory.

The Saints shot 51.6 percent from the field as they were 32-of-62 and had a 36-6 advantage in points in the paint. Thomas More’s defense forced 38 Titan turnovers and had a 47-8 advantage in points off turnovers.

Five Saints reached double-figure scoring led by junior guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) with a game-high 18 points. Joining her in double-figures was senior forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) with 14 points, senior guard Abby Owings (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) and sophomore forward Emily Schultz (Melbourne, Ky./Bishop Brossart) with 13 points each and junior forward Shelby Rupp (Milan, Ind./Batesville) with 12 points. Schultz led the team on the boards with seven rebounds, while Rupp and Kiernan each pulled down five rebounds. Junior guard Kelly Clapper (Newark, Ohio/Newark Central Catholic) led the team in steals. Owings, Temple and Rupp each had four steals in the game.

Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (February 10) when it hosts Waynesburg University at 1 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
