Murray State’s Linette Holmslykke was named the Ohio Valley Conference Female Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Holmslykke, a senior from Vejle, Denmark, performed at a high level in the 2018-19 season opener in Springfield, Missouri at the Payne Stewart Memorial when she carded scores of 69-71-72.  Her total of 212 (-1) put her into a playoff with Sydney Colwell of Memphis. Holmslykke lost the playoff on the second hole, but her play helped the Racers to a third place finish out of 15 teams.

In her third season at Murray State, Holmslykke is a big reason the Racers have won the last two OVC women’s golf championships in 2017 and 2018. She was fifth and sixth in the last two seasons in conference scoring average and was honored in both seasons as an All-OVC selection.

Holmslykke and the Racers hit the road for Glencoe, Alabama (Sept 23-25) for their second event of the fall at the Chris Banister Classic hosted by Jacksonville State at Silver Lakes Golf Course, which is part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
