Eastern Kentucky University junior soccer player Erin Torrence has been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Torrence is one of 11 players representing District 2, which covers all Division-I universities from the states of Kentucky, Washington D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
She is the first player in the history of the EKU soccer program to be named Academic All-District by CoSIDA.
As an all-district honoree, Torrence will be placed on the Academic All-America® Team ballot, with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in early December.
Torrence just wrapped up, arguably, the best offensive season ever by an EKU soccer player. The forward from Hudson, Ohio led EKU with nine goals and 22 points, both of which are EKU single-season records. She also led the Colonels in shots (44), shots on goal (20) and game-winning goals (three). Torrence was voted first team All-OVC at the end of the regular season.
Torrence has carried a perfect 4.0 GPA while pursuing a degree in occupational science through her first three years at EKU.
