The Eastern Kentucky University softball team hits the road to take on nationally ranked Kentucky on Tuesday night in Lexington.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.

-Kentucky comes into the contest 20-2 (1-2 SEC) after taking one-of-three against Florida last weekend. 

-The Wildcats lead the all-time series between the two teams, 25-7.

-Kentucky brings a prolific offense into the contest. Kayla Kowalik, Lauren Johnson, and Erin Coffel all are hitting over .400 on the year. Kowalik is hitting .487 with four doubles, three triples, five home runs and 22 RBIs. Coffel has a .423 batting average with six doubles, one triple, 10 home runs and 29 RBIs.

-Autumn Humes leads the way in the circle for the Wildcats. Humes is 9-1 on the year with a 1.96 ERA.

What EKU Brings:

-EKU comes into the weekend at 12-5 (4-2 OVC) after taking one-of-three games against in-state rival Murray State over the weekend.

-Colonels have four players hitting over .400 on the season. Carly Robinson leads the way offensively for the Colonels with a team-best .419 batting average.

-Tori Peterson was stellar over the weekend posting a 1-0 record with a 0.91 ERA. Peterson is now 4-0 on the year with a 2.90 ERA.

-Freshman Jaelyn Sanders ranks ninth in the country in saves.  

-The Colonels currently rank 55th in the nation in doubles per game and 48th overall in doubles. Both of those rank second in the OVC. 

Sammi Miller ranks ninth in the country in triples.
