Powered by Abbey Cheek’s second home run in the last three games, freshman slugger Abbey Cheek clubbed her fifth home run in the top of the first inning of the second game of a doubleheader, which would be all the No. 12 Kentucky pitching staff would need to take one game from the Bobcats in a doubleheader in Athens on Tuesday afternoon.

Kentucky would take game two, 3-1, after dropping a 1-0 extra-inning affair in the opening game of the doubleheader. The Wildcats are now 31-5 on the season with the 1-1 day on the road in Athens, and remain at 8-1 in Southeastern Conference play, tied atop the standings with Florida in the league through three weeks of play.

UK hosts No. 3 Auburn for a three-game series this weekend at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, with nearly 1,000 tickets sold for the games this weekend already.
