For the fourth time this season, Eastern Kentucky University junior Charlotte Imer has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Female Cross Country Runner of the Week.
The All-American from Melbourne, Australia has earned the honor every week she has competed this fall.
Imer finished fifth out of 288 competitors at the loaded Pre-National Invitational on Saturday in Louisville, covering the 6K course in a personal-best time of 19:48.6. Her performance led the Colonels to an eighth place finish out of 43 teams and to wins over two nationally-ranked squads – No. 12 Ole Miss and No. 24 Missouri. EKU also defeated a host of regionally-ranked teams such as Northern Arizona, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Ohio State and Duke.
Imer has led the EKU women to new heights this season. The Colonels are now ranked No. 21 in the country, marking the first time ever they have broken into the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national poll.
The cross country teams return to action at the OVC Championships on Saturday, October 28, in Charleston, Illinois.
