Two members of the last season’s University of Louisville football squad have been named to the 2016 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Football Team, according to the league office.

Offensive tackle Geron Christian and graduating center Tobijah Hughley earned honors for the second-straight season.

Christian, a rising junior, earned a mention on the academic all-conference squad for the second time in his career. The pre-business major has started 26-straight games at offensive tackle since taking over the position as a true freshman in 2015. On the playing field, Christian has earned honorable mention all-league accolades in each of his first two seaons.

Hughley, who also earned academic honors for the second time in his career, started every game at center for the Cardinals last season, helping lead the offense finish third in the nation in total offense at 532.7 yards per game. Graduating with a degree in sports administration, Hughely was also named a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree in November.

To be eligible for consideration to the squad, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career. A student-athlete in graduate school must maintain a 3.5 grade point average.
