The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced Kentucky State University volleyball, senior outside hitter, Sherry’ce Butler as the Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week and senior libero Micah Rogers was honored as the Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Butler helped the Thorobrettes to a 6-0 record at the SIAC Crossover over the weekend. She recorded 70 kills over the three-day tournament, averaging 3.3 kills per set. Butler also posted a hitting percentage of .311 and tallied 11 digs. She wrapped up the weekend finishing with nine blocks, five aces, and four assists.
Rogers, a senior libero from Indianapolis, Ind. finished with 93 digs, averaging 4.42 per set. Rogers added nine aces and six kills throughout the SIAC Crossover.
KSU will take the court tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET to take on Kentucky Wesleyan College at the Exum Center. On Friday and Saturday, the Thorobrettes will compete in the St. Joseph’s College tri-match in Indiana.
