Brooks Ely 6’3″ 175lbs Jr GUARD from West Jessamine High School Colts 2013-14 highlights, started all 30 games for West Jessamine.
The 2015 class of Kentucky High School basketball has an array of interesting and talented cast of players. Some who are getting their share of attention and some are not. One thing is for sure they all are working on their game to propel them towards their dreams.
One phenom is Brooks Ely, a talented guard from West Jessamine .6’3″ and 175 pounds SG that packs an all around game and uncanny knack for showing up in big moments. Brooks should really open eyes his senior year and help the Colts make moves in district play. Brooks #12 started all 30 games for the Colts and hit his stride in the last 6 games averaging 17.3 points and doing so efficiently by going 61% from the field and 50% from 3 point land and pouring in a career high 30 in the 46th district championship game helping him earn the honor of being named to the 46th district all tournament team as well as being named to the Berea All-A Summer State All Star Team. With these kinds of numbers and timely performances you can see why Brooks Ely is ranked as the 55th best guard in Kentucky and quickly moving up the board with his all around game and should have a spectacular senior season for the Colts. Brooks is versatile because he can beat you from deep or drive the lane and finish hard. Being a guard Brooks is a good rebounder grabbing some double doubles in his 2013-14 campaign. The kid is athletic, has a great overall game and not to mention a high motor and high basketball IQ. Brooks highlights speak for itself and if there’s one thing he can work one is transitioning to more of a facilitator since he’s getting used to the role of being a guard and expect to see that part of Brooks game appear in 2015. If you can’t wait to see Brooks play until next season you can catch him with the Charlotte AAU/Travel Club.
