Owensboro defeats Collins in the the first matchup in the Kentucky Boy’s Sweet 16 with a trio of double digit scorers. #55 Justin Miller perfect from the field(6-6) lead Owensboro with 18 pts, 4 boards and 3 steals. #15 Darion Morrow also had 15 pts and #32 Mr. Basketball finalist took the honor of player of the game with 15 pts and 9 boards.
Collins was lead by #01 Brent Kidwell who had 11 pts, 3 assists, and 2 steals. #33 Mark Sorrels chipped in 9 points, 2 assists, and 1 block.
Keys to the Owensboro victory were great shooting, points in the paint, and points off turnovers and the fact Collins shot poorly from the charity stripe (1-3) and zero attempts in the 2nd half.
