Kentucky State University will serve a tribute fit for a champ as the University honors the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Volleyball Tournament winning Thorobrettes at a special celebration at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30 at the Exum Center.
Commissioner Tommy Haynes and President Raymond M. Burse will give congratulatory remarks for the champions.
The volleyball team completed its dominant run through the SIAC tournament, defeating Albany State 3-1 to claim the conference championship on Friday at the Birmingham Crossplex. The victory was the Thorobrettes’ fifth overall and fourth in the last six years. With this win, they will be headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013.
The Thorobrettes improve to 25-12 on the season. In the first round of the NCAA Division II South Region tournament, the team will play at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Fla., at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 3.
