Elizabeth Boyce

Hometown: Louisville, Ky.

High School: Assumption

Intended Major: Undecided/Physical Therapy

Why Bellarmine?: “I chose Bellarmine because it felt like a home away from home. I wanted to stay close to my family, attend a school that I could give me the education I needed, and still play volleyball.”

Coach Grzebin on Boyce: “I’m very excited to have Elizabeth joining our 2016 team. She is a lefty who will compete for the opposite position. I’m most impressed by the work ethic and determination Elizabeth will bring to our gym. She has never backed down from a challenge and plays some of her best volleyball under pressure. Her character and personality are perfect fits for our volleyball program.”

China Brown

Hometown: Louisville, Ky.

High School: DuPont Manual

Intended Major: Pre-Medicine

Why Bellarmine?: “From the first campus visit, I could feel the nature of Bellarmine. I could tell that this family would welcome me with open arms. I knew that excelling was a common goal and from the looks of it, that was achieve with grace and prestige. From a professor telling us that the University is actually pronounced Bell – arm – an – y to random students telling me how much they loved being there, I could just tell that I was going to have an amazing four years.”

Coach Grzebin on Brown: “China will be a duel athlete here at Bellarmine, competing for the women’s basketball team as well. Although she is new to club volleyball, her athleticism and desire to learn allow her to make improvements very quickly. Her size and blocking ability will allow her to compete in the middle and right. I’m excited to train China and know that she will bring an extremely eager and positive attitude to our team dynamic.”

Janelle Tobler

Hometown: Verona, Ky.

High School: St. Henry District High School

Intended Major: Exercise Science- Physical Therapy

Why Bellarmine?: “Bellamine is a great school with excellent academics and I know I will get a good education there. It’s not too far away from my family so they will still be able to drive down and see me play. I really like Coach Grzebin and I think that I can make a positive impact in the volleyball program. Lastly, I love that it’s a Catholic university because my faith is important to me.”

Coach Grzebin on Tobler: “Janelle is a spunky player that I’m very excited to have join the group. Although Janelle will see time this club season as a middle, I look for her to compete mainly on the outside for us this fall. Her speed allows her to run a faster tempo which is something I’d love to add to our offense. I’m very excited to have Janelle as a Knight!”
