Bellarmine women’s Track & Field earns historic No. 10 national ranking

The Bellarmine University women’s track and field team received its highest-ever rating in the USTFCCCA computer rankings, clocking in at No. 10 on Tuesday.

The Knights, who rose to No. 18 in March of 2015, totaled 71.88 points. The rankings are based on the current NCAA performance lists in each event and how those athletes would score at the NCAA meet based on those standings.

The distance medley relay team of juniors Caitlin Carroll, Sarah Schuster and Erin Crone and freshman Sarah McMurchie is ranked first in the country.

Junior Meghan Roby is ranked third in the 400, sophomore Yashira Rhymer-Stuart is tied for fourth in the high jump and junior Bridgette Mangold is tied for seventh in the pole vault. Junior Erin Crone is 14th in the 3000.

The 4×400 relay team of Roby, junior Amanda Schnabel and freshmen Ashley Reyna-Padilla and Sofia Carias is 11th.

Grand Valley State, Pittsburg State, Adams State, Johnson C. Smith and Chadron State comprise the top 5.
