Shelby County standout Justus Martin scored 21 points, a new career-high (previous was 12), and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds (previous high was eight), but it wasn’t enough Monday as Georgetown College women’s basketball fell 60-48 in the Cam Jam Tournament to Haskell Indian Nations University.
The Tigers (4-11) were slow to start offensively, trailing 14-5 after the first quarter. At times the offense showed life and GC got within one, 18-17, late in the second quarter. However, Haskell responded with a 5-2 run to close the half and were never really threatened again. Abby Van Zant hit a couple of threes in the second half and was the only other Tiger in double figures with 10. Georgetown plays Cam Jam host College of the Ozarks 6:30 pm EST Tuesday.
