While tickets sales have already reached a record high, the Kentucky gymnastics program released its promotional schedule for the 2017 season on Tuesday afternoon.
Highlights of the promotional schedule include a special edition Kentucky Gymnastics American Doll being given away at every meet, and UK students will receive free pizza during all events.
Kentucky’s annual “Excite Night” will pack Memorial Coliseum once again in 2017 and will kick off the home portion of the schedule on Friday, Jan. 20 against Southeastern Conference opponent Auburn. Excite Night will feature special guest Kirstin Maldonado from the Grammy Award winning a cappella group, Pentatonix. There will also be a light up pom-pom giveaway at the door, and the concourse will feature face painting, balloon animals and more.
DanceBlue will be the theme for the second meet of the year against LSU on Friday Jan. 27. All proceeds will be donated to DanceBlue, which helps to raise awareness and money for pediatric cancer.
On Friday, Feb. 10, UK will host Alabama and Kentucky invites all fathers and daughters to spend the Friday before Valentine’s Day with a special date night designed around them.
The quad meet featuring Illinois, Washington and Northern Illinois will take place on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. and UK will welcome back all alumni. Kentucky gymnastics alumni will be honored during the meet, and all UK alumni will receive free admission.
The final meet of the season will be Youth Day at Memorial Coliseum. Ages 6-18 will get into the meet on Friday, March 3 against Arkansas for $1. Junior Wildcat Club Members, along with one guest, will get in free and are able to bring one additional guest. In addition to discounted admission, kids will be able to get their hands on a Kentucky gymnastics coloring book.
