Kentucky State University baseball head coach Rob Henry will be speaking at the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association convention on Friday in Louisville, Kentucky at the Holiday Inn East.
The convention will be a two-day event and feature numerous speakers on both Friday and Saturday. Henry is scheduled to speak at noon and will discuss the topic of “using small ball for significant results.”
“I’ll be discussing everything from bunts, steals, awareness on the bases, and several other situations,” said Henry. “Going over these topics highlights different things we as coaches can do to help us win games and focus on things all players can do and learn to be better on the field.”
This will be the second time Henry has been requested to speak at the KHSBCA convention. During his previous stint, he focused on the mental aspect of baseball and how to approach the game.
“This is always a great event to not only attend but for us to get our program out front in the public eye,” said Henry. “It shows these high school coaches we can develop their players in a variety of different ways. It gives a program like KSU the ability to prove what we can do by teaching our student-athletes and by helping them improve their game.”
Opening Day for KSU baseball is set for Feb. 4 at Emmanuel College with a doubleheader beginning at noon. The home opener is scheduled for Feb.11 as the Thorobreds will host Lake Erie College in doubleheader action, first-pitch is scheduled for noon.
