After another record-breaking night for the No. 6 Kentucky gymnastics team, the Southeastern Conference office announced Tuesday that freshman Mollie Korth has been named SEC Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive time.
Korth took a share of the all-around crown with a score of 39.450, helping the squad score a 197.100, its highest mark in school history. The team score topped the previous high of 196.950, which was set just one week prior at Florida.
She has competed in just three meets with the Wildcats in her young career and has taken at least a share of the all-around title in all three.
The Cambridge, Wisconsin native won two individual event titles as well. Korth posted an impressive 9.950 on the floor for the outright title and a career-high 9.875 on bars for a share of the crown. On vault, Korth scored a 9.775 and on beam a 9.850.
Kentucky will be back in action for a rare dual meet weekend. UK will take on No. 2 LSU in Memorial Coliseum Friday at 7 p.m., and will end the weekend at Ball State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
