Bellarmine University’s Yashira Rhymer-Stuart has been honored as the Great Lakes Valley Conference’s Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Over the weekend at the Hillsdale “Wide-Track” Classic, the Bellarmine sophomore earned an NCAA provisional in the high jump with a leap of 1.65 meters. The Cincinnati native placed third in the event.
Rhymer-Stuart is the top-ranked high jumper in the GLVC and is tied for fourth nationally for the 22nd-ranked Knights.
Truman State’s Laura Tarantino received Track Athlete of the Week accolades.
