The Bellarmine University women’s track and field team is rated No. 23 in the most recent USTFCCCA computer rankings.
The rankings are based on the current NCAA performance lists in each event and how those athletes would score at the NCAA meet based on those standings. Bellarmine, the only Great Lakes Valley Conference team in the top 25, totaled 38.11 points.
Grand Valley State (161.57), Pittsburg State (126.83), Minnesota State (105.54), Chadron State (96.89) and Adams State (94.48) comprise the top 5.
Last week, Bellarmine received its highest ranking in program history at No. 10. The Knights’ previous high-water mark was No. 18 in March of 2015.
Sophomore Yashira Rhymer-Stuart is tied for fourth in the high jump national rankings, while junior Meghan Roby is rated ninth in both the 200-meter dash and the 400.
Junior Bridgette Mangold is tied for 11th in the pole vault, junior Erin Crone is ranked 16th in the mile and junior Amanda Schnabel is tied for 20th in the 60 hurdles.
The distance medley relay team of Crone, juniors Caitlin Carroll and Sarah Schuster and freshman Sarah McMurchie is ranked 11th, while Roby, Schnabel and freshmen Ashley Reyna-Padilla and Sofia Carias is rated 16th in the 4×400 relay.
