Louisville Women’s Golf Opens Spring Tournament Play with Central District Invitational

The University of Louisville women’s golf team opens tournament play in its spring season this week, when it begins play at the Central District Invitational on Monday in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

The two-day event takes place at the par-72, 6,265-yard St. Lucie Trail Golf Club. Competition on both days begins with an 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start, with all 13 teams playing 36 holes on the first day. Along with Louisville, 49th in the latest Golfstat rankings, other top-50 programs at the tournament consist of No. 7 Furman, No. 32 North Carolina, and No. 44 Augusta.

The Cardinals will utilize a lineup of Lauren Hartlage, Molly Skapik, Olivia Cason, Jacqueline Twitty, and Louise Oxner, with Shannon Gramley participating as an individual.

Live scoring will be available on BirdieFire.com.

Louisville faced Kentucky in the Battle of the Bluegrass State, a dual, to start the spring campaign.

This year, the freshman Hartlage is carrying a 73.63-stroke average to lead the team. She boasts three top-10 finishes, with six rounds even or below par. Twitty is second in average at 75.75, and Skpaik rounds out the top three with a 75.88 mark.

Collectively, the Cardinals have secured a pair of top-five finishes in tournament play.

Louisville played at the Central District Invitational once previously in program history, taking fourth in 2013-14.
