The Murray State women’s golf squad had a spot in 10th place after 36 holes of the UNF Collegiate being played at Jacksonville Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Racers’ scores for the day included a 302 in the morning followed by a 306 in the afternoon for 608 strokes to share 10th place with Virginia Tech. MSU was two shots from ninth place Mercer at 606 and four shots behind Delaware at 604. Memphis and Old Dominion shared the lead at 596, with Campbell (598), Eastern Kentucky (599) and Southern Mississippi (601) rounding out the top-5.
Linette Holmslykke was MSU’s top player on day one with a spot in sixth place after rounds of 75-72=147, while Jane Watts was in 25th place on scores of 72-79=151. Lucilla Puente had a spot in 28th place after scores of
75-77=152 and it was a spot in 64th place for Anna Moore on scores of 80-80=160. Moa Folke was in 71st place on scores of 84-78=162.
Holmslykke and Watts had the low rounds of the day for MSU each with a 72.
Holmslykke was fourth in the field of 87 players with a 2.88 stroke average on the par-3 holes and Folke recorded one of only eight eagles in the field.
The Jacksonville Country Club course is playing to Par-72 and 6,002 yards.
