Murray State senior Jessica Twaddle pounded out 10 hits in 16 at bats last week and was named as the adidasĀ® OVC Softball Player of the Week for her efforts, the league announced Tuesday.
The Franklin, Tennessee native turned in a .625 average on the week which, was highlighted by a career-high 4-for-4 performance in the opener against UT Martin. Twaddle hit safely in each game on the week, recording multiple hits in three of them, and also had at least one RBI in each game as well.
The senior finished the week with an on-base percentage of .647, thanks to one walk, and a .875 slugging percentage, thanks to a double and a home run. Twaddle also stole a base last week, did not commit an error in 44 chances at first base and did not strike out in 17 plate appearances.
This is Twaddleās third OVC weekly honor of her career and the second by a Racer this season. Mason Robinson was named as the OVC Pitcher of the Week on March 6.
