Four Bellarmine Track & Field Athletes earn bids to NCAA Outdoor Championships

Four Bellarmine University women’s track and field members earned berths in the DII NCAA Outdoor Championships, it was announced Tuesday night.

Junior Bridgette Mangold sealed a spot in the pole vault, sophomore Yashira Rhymer-Stuart in the high jump, junior Meghan Roby in the 400 meters and junior Sarah Schuster in the 800.

On the USTFCCCA performance list, Mangold is tied for No. 17 in the national rankings after delivering a 3.88 vault at Western Kentucky’s Hilltopper Relays. She earned second-team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors in the event at the GLVC Championships.

Rhymer-Stuart is tied for 14th in the national rankings in the high jump after posting a 1.73 leap in the Bellarmine Classic. She garnered second-team All-America honors in the event at the NCAA Indoor Championships after placing 12th.

Roby is ranked 15th in the 400 after notching a 54.78 at the GLVC Championships, where she received Track Athlete of the Year accolades. Roby was a first-team All-American in the 400 at the NCAA Indoor Championships after placing fourth.

Schuster is ranked 28th in the 800 after netting a 2:09.70 at the Dr. Keeler Track and Field Invitational. She reaped second-team All-GLVC acknowledgement in the event.

The NCAA Outdoor Championships will unfold May 25-27 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
