Bowling Green, KY based Kentucky Fire went to Nashville this weekend to participate in their most marquee event of the season, the Primetime Showcase in Murfreesboro. With many nationally ranked teams in town this weekend for various divisions, the Kentucky Fire was able to bring the championship crown back up I-65 to Kentucky.
In the championship game the fire defeated RSD Blue 59-49 behind 16 points from leading scorer Conner Cooper. Anthony Woodard added 15 for the winners in the championship game. Isaiah Mason had 17 in the semi-finals propelling the Fire into the championship game. Cooper and Mason are both top 20 players in state in our initial Class of 2021 Kentucky Player Rankings.
While Cooper and Mason currently are the headliners for the Fire, they won this tournament with an outstanding team effort from all players. Nash Divine, Muhlenburg County, was named the tournament MVP for his outstanding play all weekend for the Fire. Anthony Woodard, Nash Divine, Isaiah Mason and Conner Cooper were named to the All-Tournament Team.
