UK Men’s Tennis’ Pennington, Wallart Fall Short in NCAA Doubles Tournament

Kentucky men’s tennis senior Beck Pennington and sophomore Enzo Wallart saw their season come to an end in the first round of the NCAA Doubles Tournament on Thursday evening at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia.

Pennington and Wallart dropped the match to Skander Mansouri and Christian Seraphim, the No. 4 seed in the tournament, 6-3, 6-2 in a rematch of the second round of the NCAA team Tournament.

The duo of Pennington and Wallart will end the season with six wins, all on the No. 1 court. The team posted five wins over nationally ranked opponents throughout the year, and clinched the doubles point in the first round the NCAA Tournament, helping the Cats sweep Georgia State.

Kentucky is still alive in the NCAA Singles Tournament, as Will Bushamuka defeated No. 23 Gustav Hansson of Ole Miss Thursday morning. Bushamuka will face No. 4 Nuno Borges of Mississippi State at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow in the round of 16.
