Coach Joseph Harris took over Valley and started the resurgence for the Vikings and this past season first year coach DeJuan Wheat carried on. Wheat led the Vikings to the semi-finals of the region before losing to eventual state semi-finalist Fern Creek. Two key components to the Vikings success was the play of Curt Lewis and Tymetrius Walter. Both Lewis and Walter have commited the Prep Showcase coming up June 9 at Barren County High School.
Lewis was the 2nd leading scorer for Valley last season, averaging just under 13 points per game. Walter missed the majority of the season with a torn meniscus but at the end of the year came back to average 10 a game. Most recently at the Hilltopper Hoopfest in Bowling Green, Walter put on a show and proved he will be one the better guards in the state this coming season.
