University of Louisville men’s golfers Keegan de Lange and Simon Zach were named to the Academic All-ACC team on Monday.
De Lange, a sophomore marketing major, was named to the team for the second-straight season. He was an All-ACC player on the course this year after reaching the NCAA Regionals as an individual and finishing with a team-best 73.06 stroke average. The Pretoria, South Africa, native was the team’s leader throughout the 2016-17 campaign and was recently named the team’s Most Valuable Player.
Zach, who is also a sophomore marketing major, earned academic accolades for the second consecutive year. The native of Prague, Czech Republic, was the second-best player on the team with a 73.13 stroke average, posting a top-10 finish and one in the top 20.
“I’m very proud of both student-athletes,” head coach Mark Crabtree said. “They are very dedicated and effort is outstanding. It’s the second time that these players won academic accolades. I appreciate how they approach their academics and Lauren Hansen (academic counselor) deserves much credit for her efforts and direction she provided to them and our team.”
