UL WSOC Freshman Taylor Kerwin Named Gatorade State Player of the Yr for Wisconsin

Incoming freshman standout Taylor Kerwin was named the Gatorade State Girls Soccer Player of the Year for the state of Wisconsin.

In her final season at Whitefish Bay, Kerwin played in all 21 games while scoring 47 goals and handing out 11 assists while leading Whitefish Bay to a 22-1-2 record. She set the new stat record with the only hat trick scored in the state championship game. She was also the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel player of the week twice. She was also named the North Shore Conference Player of the Year.

Kerwin was dominant on the state’s biggest stage. She had one goal and two assists in a 3-1 victory over Oregon in the state semifinals and registered three goals and an assist in a 5-1 triumph over Wauwatosa East in the state final last Saturday.

The Gatorade award considers an individual’s play on the field as well as his or her performance in the classroom and contribution to the community. Kerwin carried a 3.34 grade-point average and was a member of student council. She has volunteered with youth sports programs.
