Kentucky women’s soccer player Hollie Olding scored a goal in the second match of England’s qualifying match for the 2019 European Championships – helping guide the Three Lionesses to the next phase of qualifications.
Olding and the England Women’s National Team went 3-0-0 in the group stage of qualifications with wins over Kazakhstan (9-0), Whales (4-0) and Slovenia (1-0). With nine points, England topped Group 2 of EURO qualifications, and will now participate in the 2019 Championships next round of qualifications.
The Chichester, England native started in two of the three group stage matches, and scored in the 5nd minute against Whales to put the Three Lionesses up 2-0 at the time. She played the full 90 minutes against Whales and Slovenia – the two matches that she appeared in.
Olding will now return to the United States to help Kentucky finish out the regular season on Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET at Georgia. The Wildcats need a win and help to make the 2017 Southeastern Conference Tournament in Orange Beach.
