EKU Volleyball Closes Regular Season Road Play On Tuesday

The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team wraps up regular-season road competition tomorrow at Morehead State University.

The match is set to begin at 6 p.m.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

-EKU (12-16, 10-4 Ohio Valley Conference) finished the weekend 1-1. After dropping four-set decision to Jacksonville State on Friday night the Colonels picked up a straight set victory at Tennessee Tech Saturday.

-Celina Sanks had a big weekend, pouring in 35 kills and 28 digs over the seven sets.

-Cassie Knutson continues to show her versatility on the court, contributing 23 kills, 48 assists, 21 digs and five blocks on the weekend.

-Libero Chloe Rojas continues to lead the conference in league action in digs.

-The Colonels are currently tied with Murray State for the three seed.

-EKU returns all letterwinners from last season.

-Nikki Drost and Rachel Woody were both named All-OVC Preseason Selections going into the season.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT:

MOREHEAD STATE
-The Eagles (13-14, 4-10 OVC) also split the weekend, sweeping the Golden Eagles, but falling to Jacksonville State in five.

-Lauren Rokey is leading MU in kills with 292 (3.17-per-set). She is also hitting a .178 efficiency on the season.

-Danielle McCarson leads the defensive effort for the Eagles with 332 on the year.

-This will be the second time this season EKU has played Morehead State. The Colonels won 3-0 on October 4 in Richmond.

WHAT’S NEXT:
-EKU closes the regular-season at home on Saturday where it will take on Murray State. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
