Murray State Football’s Jordon Gandy To Play In NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

Senior wide receiver Jordon Gandy of the Murray State football team has accepted an invitation to play in the 2018 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, one of college football’s big three postseason all-star games. He is now the third Racer to be selected to play in the game joining Marcus Harris in 2011 and Walter Powell in 2013.

“I’m honored and blessed to have the opportunity to play in this game and play at such a historic place like the Rose Bowl Stadium,” said Gandy.

“I am very excited to see Jordon get this recognition and he is extremely deserving of the invitation,” said head coach Mitch Stewart. “He is a phenomenal player, but is an even better person and it’s a great thing to see all his hard-work and dedication pay off.

The two-time first-team All-OVC selection racked up 965 yards on 65 catches this season to go along with 10 touchdowns. The senior led the league in receiving touchdowns and finished second in total yards, yards per game (86.7) and receptions per game (5.9).

The Biloxi, Mississippi native finished his career with Murray State with a total of 2,065 yards, making him just the eighth player in school history to amass 2,000-plus yards in a career. He also finished his time at MSU ninth all-time in receptions, third in receiving touchdowns and third in 100-plus yard games.

The 2018 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl will take place Saturday, January 20, 2018 at historic Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 1 p.m. PT/3 p.m. CT and is set to be broadcast live on FS1.
