With a 4708 in the Buckeye Open last weekend, the Murray State rifle team moved up to third in the latest College Rifle Coaches Associations Top 20 rankings released Monday.
The Racers’ opponent for Saturday, West Virginia, remained at No. 1, while TCU moved into second. Alaska moved up one from fifth to fourth, while Kentucky fell from second to fifth.
The biggest mover of the week was Air Force which vaulted from 12th to seventh. After becoming the first team to break into the ranking in nearly two years, Charleston Southern fell out of the rankings this week, making way for The Citadel at No. 20.
This week, Murray State returns home to the Pat Spurgin Rifle Range to host the top-ranked Mountaineers Saturday at 9 a.m.
