University of Louisville baseball alumnus Brendan McKay will be presented with the 2017 Golden Spikes Award trophy by representatives from USA Baseball during halftime of Saturday’s men’s basketball game against Indiana at the KFC Yum! Center (2 pm ET tipoff). McKay established himself as Louisville’s first Golden Spikes Award winner and was the unanimous National Player of the Year in 2017 while leading the Cardinals to their fourth College World Series appearance, a school record 53 wins and a third straight ACC Atlantic Division championship. McKay became the highest draft selection in school history going No. 4 overall to the Tampa Bay Rays in the first round of the 2017 MLB Draft.
Along with Saturday’s halftime ceremony, McKay will also visit with fans during a pregame autograph session from 1 to 1:30 p.m., ET on the east side (2nd street side) of the Main Concourse inside the KFC Yum! Center. Commemorative autograph cards courtesy of USA Baseball will be provided for the autograph session.
