WHAT TO KNOW
– EKU (5-6) erased a seven-point second-half deficit to beat Charleston Southern, 70-65, on Friday night in Charleston.
– The Colonels held Charleston Southern scoreless over the final five minutes, and without a field goal over the final 10 minutes of play on Friday to secure the come-from-behind victory.
– Freshman Dedric Boyd knocked down four three-pointers and led EKU with 19 points in Charleston. Junior Nick Mayo chipped in 15 points.
– Redshirt sophomore Tay Weaver made his first career start against Charleston Southern. The Colonels have now used eight different starting lineups through 11 games this season.
– Senior Zach Charles scored a season-high 10 points against CSU. EKU is 7-3 all-time when Charles scores in double figures.
– EKU recorded a season-high 10 steals against Charleston Southern.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
– Norfolk State (1-10) lost to Niagara, 85-82, on a last-second three-pointer on Saturday.
– Steven Whitley leads a balanced NSU scoring attacked at 11.8 points-per-game.
– This is the sixth all-time meeting between EKU and Norfolk State. EKU leads the series, 3-2; however, the Spartans defeated the Colonels, 87-80, in overtime last year in Norfolk.

EKU is back on the road on Friday, December 22, to face Marshall in its non-conference finale. Tipoff in Huntington is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. The Colonels open OVC play at Jacksonville State on Thursday, December 28, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
