The Kentucky men’s soccer senior defender Alex Bumpus and freshman goalkeeper Enrique Facusse were named Second Team All-Southeast Region by the United Soccer Coaches.
Senior defender Alex Bumpus was named All-Southeast Region for the second year in a row. He was named to the third team last season.
The athletic starting center back played a key role in all seven of UK’s shutouts this season, a C-USA best. The UK defense led the league in regular-season goals-against average (.89).
Facusse picked up a bunch of accolades from Conference USA earlier this year including the Golden Glove Award, Freshman of the Year, First Team All-C-USA and the Conference All-Freshman Team.
Facusse led the league in conference games goals-against average (0.71), and was second in all games (0.89). He won the Golden Glove award by virtue of leading the league in shutouts recorded in C-USA matches (four – tied with Old Dominion’s Mertcan Akar). Facusse had a league-best seven total shutouts.
Bumpus and Facusse were both on the C-USA first team. Facusse was also named to the C-USA All-Freshman Team.
