EKU Men’s Tennis Releases 2018 Schedule, Opens Play Monday

The Eastern Kentucky University men’s tennis team opens the 2018 slate at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana on Monday. The squad will take on DePaul University at 9 a.m. followed by the Boilermakers at 1 p.m.

Live statistics and live video will be available for the match against Purdue.

The Colonels finished 16-10 last season overall and return six.

The Blue Demons also finished 16-10 while Purdue posted a 20-13 mark in 2017, including a trip to the NCAA tournament.

The EKU men have added four to the roster. Three freshman – Eduardo Cabral, Carlos Dodero and Juan Soria and one senior – Gabriel Ruiz.

Eastern will take on the University of Kentucky on Friday, Jan. 19 before returning home on Jan. 27 for matches against the University of the Cumberlands and Northern Kentucky University.

The team will spend just one weekend on the road in February when they travel to Virginia to play two matches at Virginia Tech and one at the University of Virginia. They will spend the remainder of the month in Richmond as they welcome in Appalachian State, the University of Indianapolis, Lindsey Wilson College and Campbellsville University.

EKU will spend time in Alabama and Florida before opening conference play.

Eastern Illinois University, the University of Dayton and Austin Peay State University will all come to the Greg Adams Tennis Center before tournament play.
