A pair of Eastern Kentucky University juniors, Yoshua Reed and Jaime Romo, picked up Ohio Valley Conference Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors on Wednesday, the league office announced.
Reed is the defending OVC outdoor decathlon champion, and he took silver in the heptathlon at the OVC Indoor Championships last February.
This is Reed’s second career OVC Field Athlete of the Week award. He earned the honor last April after scoring 6,488 points in the decathlon at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville.
Romo was a first team All-OVC performer in cross country in the fall, and he helped lead the EKU men to their 12th consecutive conference title.
The EKU track and field team returns to action this Saturday, February 3, at the MTSU Invitational in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
