Eastern Kentucky University junior forward Jackson Davis will miss the rest of the season with a torn labrum.
Davis tore the labrum in his left shoulder at practice on Wednesday, January 17.
The 6-8 forward from Lexington was coming off his best stretch of basketball as a Colonel. He had 16 points and seven rebounds in a win at UT Martin on January 11 and a career-high 18 points and five rebounds in a win at Southeast Missouri two days later.
Davis ranked fourth on the team in scoring (8.2 points-per-game) and third in rebounding (4.7 rebounds-per-game).
“We are devastated that Jackson’s year is over,” head coach Dan McHale said. “But, we are confident that he will be back and better than ever next year, and ready to help his team.”
The Colonels play at second-place Murray State tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET.
