Eastern Kentucky University junior Meggan Grams has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Female Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Grams won her section of the mile on Friday night at the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana. The native of Hagerstown, Maryland clocked a time of 5:01.1, which currently ranks second in the conference.
Grams owns a personal-best time of 4:56.2 in the mile, which she recorded when she finished fourth in the event as a freshman at the 2016 OVC Indoor Championships in Nashville.
She has also run 4:31.8 in the outdoor 1,500 meters.
Grams was a key member of EKU’s first-ever women’s cross country team to qualify for the NCAA Championships this past fall.
An EKU woman has now been named OVC Track Athlete of the Week every week this season, so far.
The EKU track and field team returns to action this weekend at Marshall’s Thundering Herd Invitational in Huntington, West Virginia.
