Northern Kentucky’s women’s tennis continues its opening week by traveling to in-state opponent Louisville on Friday, Jan. 26. First serve against the Cardinals is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
The match will be the second in three days against a Power Five institution for the Norse. NKU opened up the spring season against No. 21 Kentucky, falling in a 4-0 clinch decision. Though the Norse did not secure a point against the Wildcats, every Norse took at least one game in singles action, and Margita Sunjic was on her way to forcing a third set in the No. 1 singles matchup when it was abandoned following the clinch.
Louisville is 2-0 to start the year following a pair of 7-0 victories over Dayton and Wright State. The Cards used the same singles lineup in both matches, with Aleksandra Mally leading the charge at the No. 1 spot. Louisville’s lineup features experience with no freshman seeing action on opening weekend, which is a stark contrast to the Norse as all four NKU rookies made their spring debut against UK.
