Louisville’s Katie Walsh selected to USA Field Hockey’s 2018 Women’s National Development Squad

The University of Louisville’s Katie Walsh was recently named to USA Field Hockey’s Women’s National Development Squad.

Walsh, a junior midfielder from Louisville, Ky. (Ballard HS) started every game for the Cardinals this season. She scored a goal in the 3-2 win at No. 5 North Carolina and dished out her first career assist in the 5-1 win over Kent State to total three points.

The selection to the 21-member squad follows a three-day training session which was held Jan. 16-18 at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pa. With the potential promising, the U.S. Women’s National Development Squad accounts for the transitional phase between the U-21 USWNT and the senior USWNT.
