The Lady Tigers (16-2, 2-0 Mid-South Conference) won their fifth-straight game with Madison Kaiser and Madison Clements scoring 13 points each. Jordan Doram finished a rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.
Alani Fisher scored a game-best 18 points for the Patriots (12-3, 1-1 MSC) after going 6-for-8 from the floor, with all eight shots coming from beyond the three-point line.
After an even tilt to start the game, Campbellsville used a 10-0 to turn its two-point deficit into a 14-6 lead with 2:35 left in the quarter. The Lady Tigers finished the opening stanza on a 17-7 run to take a 21-13 lead heading into the second quarter.
Campbellsville stretched its lead to 27-16 with 5:55 left until halftime after a put back from Doram. Cumberlands came storming back with a 12-2 run and pulled within a point at the 2:45 mark in the second quarter. The Patriots then took its first lead of game since five-minute mark in the first quarter, following a three-pointer from Kayla Bruner with just 50 second remaining.
The Lady Tigers did not back down and scored four-straight points in the final 34 seconds of the first half to grab a 37-34 lead over Cumberlands heading into the half.
Both teams started off strong shooting the ball with Campbellsville making 50 percent of its shots, compared 48.2 percent from the Patriots. In the first 20 minutes of actions, 23 of Campbellsville’s 37 points came from the bench highlighted by 11 points Kaiser and six points from Caitlin Hall.
The two teams went back-and-forth in the third quarter, with the Lady Tiger increasing their lead to five points, but Cumberlands did not back down as it tied the score at 43 halfway through the quarter.
Campbellsville led by five late in the third quarter, but a pair of three-pointers from Fisher tied the score at 50 and the two teams were all knotted at 52 after the third quarter.
Opening the fourth quarter, the Lady Tigers scored the first nine points and after a layup from Doram, Cumberlands called a timeout with Campbellsville on top, 61-52.
The Lady Tiger run came to an end following a bucket from Cheyenne Madden at the 6:47 mark in the quarter. However, Campbellsville came right back with a three-pointer from Clements on the next possession to give the Lady Tigers its first double-digit lead since the five-minute mark in the second quarter.
With Campbellsville holding a 69-60 lead, the offense for both teams went cold with neither team scoring a point over the final two minute of the ball game and the Lady Tigers earned a nine-point win on the road.
After Campbellsville had 23 bench points in the first half, it only generated five points from the bench in the final 20 minutes of the game.
Neither team shot the ball well from the free throw line with the Lady Tigers shooting 56.0 percent (14-for-25) and Cumberlands shot 29.4 percent (5-for-17). For the game, Campbellsville shot 48.2 percent and the Patriots made 49.9 percent of its shots.
The Lady Tigers continue its first MSC road trip of the season on Saturday afternoon against Life University in Marietta, Georgia at 2 p.m. ET
