EKU Track & Field Imer Runs OVC-Best Time In The 3000 Meters

Senior All-American Charlotte Imer clocked a personal and OVC-best time of 9:26.9 in the 3,000 meters at the Camel City Invitational on Saturday at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Imer’s time is the third fastest indoor 3,000 meters time in EKU history. She now owns the top 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters (16:09.2) times in the conference.

The rest of the EKU track and field team competed at the MTSU Invitational on Saturday at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Senior Tom Koringo highlighted the meet for the men, winning the mile with a time of 4:16.85. That time is currently tops on the team this season, and it ranks No. 5 in the OVC.

Junior Greyson Winiger (800 meters / 1:56.9) and sophomore Fred Kanda (3,000 meters / 8:47.1) also won events for the men.

Sophomore Jacob Alleyne turned in a notable performance in the 55 meters, clocking a personal-best time of 6.55 That time, converted, currently ranks No. 10 in the OVC.

Junior Leah Polycarpou delivered a notable performance for the women on Saturday at MTSU, running a personal-best 2:20.5 in the 800 meters. That time currently stands at No. 10 in the OVC.

The Colonels will split next weekend between the Iowa State Classic and the Chipotle Marshall Invitational.
