After three straight matches on the road, the University of Louisville men’s tennis team will return to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Sunday, February 4 to host Dartmouth at 12 p.m., followed by a 5:30 p.m. matchup against Austin Peay.

About Louisville Men’s Tennis
The Cardinals (3-2) look to return to their winning ways this weekend after back-to-back losses against ranked opponents. Despite winning four of the first six singles sets, Louisville fell 4-2 to No. 24 Duke in the first round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. The sixth-ranked doubles team of Parker Wynn and Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff notched a 6-3 victory over Duke’s Nick Stachowiak and Sean Sculley at the No.1, while No. 115 Wynn went on to upset No. 81 Spencer Furman from the second position in singles play. Junior George Hedley also earned a point for the Cardinals, defeating Jason Lapidus 6-1, 6-3 from No. 6. The following day, the Cardinals were defeated 4-0 by the 10th-ranked TCU Horned Frogs in the consolation match of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
Prior to the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, the Cardinals opened the 2018 dual match season with three straight wins, their best start since 2014. Louisville kicked off 2018 with victories over Butler and Toledo at Bass-Rudd, followed by a 4-2 defeat of Purdue on the road.

Scouting the Big Green: Opening the season with four straight victories, the Big Green (4-0) are currently undefeated and have rendered each of their opponents scoreless. The doubles team of Charlie Broom and David Horneffer boasts the top record for Dartmouth with a mark of 4-0 from No.1. In singles action, John Speicher holds an overall record of 16-3. Prior to Sunday’s meeting with the Cards, the Big Green will travel to Bloomington, Indiana for a Friday evening matchup against the Indiana Hoosiers.
Austin Peay
Series Record: Louisville leads 9-1
Last Meeting: February 14, 2017 – Louisville won 7-0 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center
Scouting the Governors: Austin Peay (0-2) opened the dual match season with a pair of losses against Middle Tennessee and Chattanooga. Against Chattanooga, Christian Edison and Timo Kiesslich recorded a 6-4 win from the No. 2 in doubles, while Aleh Drobysh and Jacob Lorino nabbed wins at the No.4 and No. 6 in singles action. The Governors will face Lipscomb on Saturday before traveling to Louisville.
Up Next: Louisville welcomes the Wright State Raiders and the Charlotte 49ers to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center for a double-header on Friday, February 4. The Cardinals host the Raiders at 12 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. matchup against the 49ers.
